I missed the Oscars last night, but I did see several of the short, animated films that were nominated for an award, this year, and thought they were fantastic. Seeing those reminded me of this short film I stumbled across a week or two ago, written by Amy Krause Rosenthal, a NYT bestselling picture book author.
Kindness Thought Bubble won an award for Best Animation at the Peace On Earth Film Festival, in 2011. A festival I never realized existed until I found this film. The 2013 POEFF is actually coming right up, too: March 7-10 in Chicago.
The Peace on Earth Film Festival seems like the Kindness Oscars to me. I'd love to see it live-tweeted like the "regular" Oscars. I imagine it would be a far more uplifting experience.
Hope this little film inspired you, like it did me.

I love the idea of Kindness Oscars, Alina! And I loved this short film. So simple, but so inspiring. Thank you for posting it! "Kindness acts as a revealing marker"--YES YES YES. I love that. I think I'll aim for a higher jen ration this year. What an amazing concept.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful film! Loved it, and the idea of being remembered as Kind. Thank you for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteLoved every second of this film. When she said man...kind, it was like.BOOM! Of course! Why don't we get this? Thanks for sharing this, Alina. <3
ReplyDeleteWow. It's so exactly how I want to live my life, and yet, am I actually living like that? Less CNN, (or should I say, less blogging?), more kindness. Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, by the way. Very inspiring!
